This RALLY type NCP was originally equipped with a 4-speed manual gearbox and a 1466 cc SALMSON engine.
After the World War II, the RALLY evolved to make a more powerful and faster “special version” for hill climb races in mountains. It received a COTAL semi-automatic gearbox, 4-speeds.
Bore of the engine block from 69 to 72 mm and replacement of the pistons to bring the displacement to 1600 cc, which puts it in the category of 100 Horsepower (100 Hp).

SALMSON engine 1600cc, 4 in-line cylinders with double overhead camshaft, dual carburetor. It is the only RALLY model to have the exterior exhaust pipe !
It is also equipped with a lever on the right side to lock the rear wheels in tight turns and in the pinheads.

This RALLY type NCP with a SALMSON engine 1600 cc is more powerful than a BUGATTI type 37 with an engine 1500 cc !
